Let’s talk about green bean casserole. It’s a Thanksgiving staple, but let’s face it, sometimes it could use a little excitement.
Enter Secret Aardvark BuffaDill Green Buffalo Sauce.
We took the classic green bean casserole with cream of mushroom soup, green beans, cheddar cheese, and crispy fried onions, and gave it a tangy, dill-forward kick. The result? A creamy, crunchy, slightly spicy Thanksgiving side dish that might just steal a little attention from the turkey.
And the best part? No fancy ingredients or complicated steps. Just a little BuffaDill magic.

Ingredients
- 2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- ¾ cup milk
- 3 oz Secret Aardvark BuffaDill Green Buffalo Sauce, depending on preferred heat level
- ¾ cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 4 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, well drained
- 1 container (6 oz) crispy fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, ½ cup cheddar cheese, and 3 oz BuffaDill Green Buffalo Sauce until combined. Taste the mixture and add more BuffaDill if you want an extra kick.
- Add the green beans. Gently fold in the drained green beans and 1 cup of crispy fried onions.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbling.
- Add the crispy topping. Remove from the oven, stir gently, and sprinkle the remaining fried onions over the top.
- Finish baking for 5 minutes, until the onions are golden brown. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining ¼ cup cheddar cheese.
Aardvark Tip: We went a little wild with the BuffaDill when testing this recipe, and it definitely brought the heat! Start with 3 oz for a more approachable kick, or add more if your Thanksgiving crew likes things spicy. The tangy, dill-forward flavor gives this classic casserole a whole new personality.
